Lit My Own Worst Enemy

Guitar fretboard. Put your first finger on the low D (5th fret of A string) and your third finger on the D one octave higher (7th fret of G string).
To avoid hearing that middle string ring, let your first (or second) finger on your fret hand lay across it. Do not apply pressure. Just touch it enough to mute the string. This same finger (index) should be slightly touching the first and second strings to mute them also.
To avoid hearing your low E string ring, use your middle finger of your fret hand and gently lay it across the low E.

The midi files do not demonstrate the slide.
