So that’s it. All over. 6 years of playing 3-4 nights a week at the popular Roxy nightclub in downtown Vancouver has ended. It was a strange weekend and is a rather strange start to this week knowing it is over and I don’t go in this Wednesday night. I added up that I played just under 1000 nights on that stage and approx. 37,000 songs. Crazy. Lot of good times but now that door is closed and new doors will open.
I am grateful for the time I had there but honestly I am quite glad it is over. Financially I am scared but as far as my physical and mental health, I don’t think that place was very good for either. I was expecting the weekend to offer up a sense of relief and excitement about the future but I found it to be a difficult weekend mentally full of fear and self doubt. I am a single dad of two boys with a lot of responsibility and bills and no real job right now. Yikes Lol! Anyway, I am feeling better today even though it has taken a bit of work to get out of the muck. Much of that work was simply playing my guitar. It is an amazing thing to me that through my whole life and all the ups and downs, playing my guitar has always had a positive feeling for me.
So I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and know that I very much appreciate everyone taking the time to check out my site, do the lessons, comment on the videos and register for the site!
So now what? Make this site great! New lessons, updated old lessons, new videos, write, record and share and blog regularly 🙂
I’m going to allow this blog to be about anything I feel like writing about although it will mostly be used to let you know what is happening with the site (lessons being worked on, posted etc). So on that note I am going to get busy on the site! Thanks again for reading!
