The Minor Scale

There are a couple different ways we can
build a minor scale.
First we will build a C major scale with
the formula W W H W W W H

Every major key has a relative minor and
every major scale has a relative minor. They will share the same
notes, same key signature and same chords. You can find a relative
minor by going down a minor 3rd from the root of the major or by
going to the 6th degree of the major scale.
So going down a minor 3rd from C would give
us A. If we went to the 6th degree of a C major scale we would also
get an A. So C's relative minor is A minor.
